Current Events: Share-a-Meal!
Connect’s new monthly Share-a-Meal volunteer opportunity allows you to build your network with other young professionals all while cooking, serving, and eating a meal with Aeon’s residents. These meals are served at two of Aeon’s apartment buildings: the Lamoreaux Apartments and Continental Hotel Apartments, both of which provide apartment homes for formerly homeless adults.
Connect’s meals are typically served at 6:30 pm and volunteers are asked to arrive between 5:00 and 5:30 pm. The meal planning will be coordinated by a Team Lead who will also help give direction to the group onsite. Both of these opportunities are in downtown Minneapolis. An email confirmation with start time, final meal cost per person, and parking directions will come out approximately one week ahead of time.
The cost for this Share a Meal volunteer opportunity is typically $15 per volunter but Mahoney, Ulbrich, Christiansen & Russ have sponsored the cost of Share a Meal in 2013. This is a great way to get to know your neighbors in the Twin Cities, eat a great meal which you have helped cook, and learn more about Connect, Aeon and the need for affordable housing in the Twin Cities. Space is limited to ten volunteers. Sign up today to make an impact on the Twin Cities Community and Aeon’s residents in particular!
