Aeon's year-end fundraising campaigns raised $51,622, securing their respective challenge gifts in the final week of 2011. Donors surpassed Aeon’s combined campaign goal of $28,000.
Thanks to a matching challenge grant from The Soener Foundation, Aeon's young professionals team Connect was able to raise $6,015. Connect organizes events around furthering Aeon’s vision that everyone has a home. According to Connect member Dhiren Patel, Aeon’s success and vision attracted him to join Connect. “I strongly believe that the younger generation needs to get involved in the community early on and should begin to give back financially as soon as possible,” says Patel. “We are in a position to make a lasting impact in the lives of so many people. It is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had.”
Aeon’s “No Place Like Home” campaign raised $35,607, securing a challenge gift of $10,000 from NorthMarq Capital. The campaign distributed its appeal via email messaging that shared the lasting impact Aeon makes.
“Two days before the end of the year, we had $850 left to reach our goal of $25,000,” says Jenny Johnson, Aeon’s fund development manager. “Within 15 minutes of sending our last campaign email, someone made a gift of exactly $850.” She adds, “We are so thankful to everyone who contributed to the year-end campaign. The generosity of all our donors pushed us more than $20,000 over our goal.”
