Aeon's Intentional Organizational Culture Every organization has a culture. Often it is accidental, but a quality organizational culture can be pursued intentionally. Aeon is intentional in its efforts to create a culture of achievement and accountability. Our achievement is focused on making homes for people. We work to be accountable to our residents, to each other and to the broader community.
We also know that committed, talented, happy people get more done and perform their work better. Research cited by authors Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman in "First Break All the Rules" finds that the top six elements for a quality work situation for most individuals are:
- Clear performance expectations
- The tools and resources necessary to perform as expected
- A position in which the person is required to spend about 80% of their time doing the things they do best
- Regular thanks and praise for their contributions
- Their supervisor cares about and treats them as a person, not just a resource
- Regular opportunities to grow personally and professionally
Aeon expects leaders, managers, supervisors and employees to work together to ensure that each Aeon employee is in a situation that consistently meets these six important elements.
