The Landing: Meeting the Need for Affordable Senior Housing
Aeon will help meet the growing demand for senior housing by constructing a high quality, sustainable development in Chaska. The Landing will create approximately 50 affordable one-bedroom apartment homes for seniors, offering Chaska residents the opportunity to age within the community.
The number of residents age 65 and older in Carver County is anticipated to quadruple to 24,490 by 2030. The Landing will assist the city of Chaska in achieving its goal to encourage the development of housing with a range of rents to allow residents to stay in the city as they age.
Through its intentional design, The Landing will address many of the challenges seniors have with staying in a single family home. For example, its community spaces will promote social interaction among seniors who can otherwise easily become isolated.
 Located on the banks of the Minnesota River, The Landing will offer senior residents convenient access to shopping, health care, religious facilities, recreational trails and public transportation. Recently constructed public improvements on Chestnut Street create an even more pedestrian-friendly community.
The Landing offers seniors affordability and easy access to the greater community. Senior housing often frees up single family homes for young families who bring new life into the community.
