Children’s Village Center

Minneapolis, MN

Located near the heart of downtown Minneapolis, Children's Village Center provides 30 affordable apartments for individuals and families. Nearby restaurants, markets and bus lines offer convenient city living.

On-site Services

The building's ground level provides offices and programming space for Hope Community. Hope Community offers youth and adults educational, artistic and community-building activities to engage community residents in building better futures for themselves, their families and their community.

Development History

Children's Village Center opened in 2004 as the first milestone of the South Quarter development (formerly Franklin Portland Gateway). Through a partnership between Aeon and Hope Community, the once blighted intersection of Franklin and Portland Avenues is being completely transformed into 300 high-quality, mixed-income apartments and townhomes, along with new retail businesses and community space.

Other developments at the intersection are The Jourdain, The Rose and The Wellstone. Designed to be family- and pedestrian-friendly, the South Quarter development completely changed this once vacant intersection into an attractive, vibrant community hub.
